Bug switching from company to customer.

Post by Qbasic8 »

Under "Customer List for Start Order", selecting Customer after Company was selected, would show no names even when removing all text. You can type in a last name and still nothing. Switch back to Company then back to Customer it will
then display correctly.

Yes, this is fixed for the SE 8.5.3 release slated for December.

Larry/Ron,

Any chance you could go into greater detail/replication steps/screenshots for this? Unfortunately we've had a number of little issues in this area over the past couple years (last being that column order), but I'm not seeing this one here so maybe I'm chasing the wrong one.

We've seen this. Switch back and forth between Customer and Company and it comes back. I'll try to get some data on it too.

I can't seem to replicate it. I assume it's not consistent? But yeah, much appreciated Ric. Any info would be helpful.

Okay, to start with a little background, I have been seeing instances where I hit F6 and the customer screen comes up without the cursor focused inside the area to type to find a customer. I just tried it and the customers started populating when I started typing. I escaped out of that and hit F6 again and the cursor was not focused. I escaped and tried again and it came back focused, but the bug with the names not populating was present.

Thanks. I see from your screen the name columns didn't appear to switch over from Last/First to Company. I haven't been able to replicate it still, but I'll check with our Development Liaison when he's back next week to see if he can figure out the trigger.

This happened to use today. First we created a new order via the Scheduler for a fleet, using the Company radio button. 36 minutes later we started another order the same way for Customer, however the Company fields were still visible. Needed to switch back and forth to get them to load.

Well, we'll keep a close eye on this behavior with the upcoming changes to this area. Hopefully the option to allow a single global search will put this to bed. :)
